Q: What are the minimum system requirements?
A: Not much! Windows Vista or newer, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86), DirectX 9.
Q: Where can I download CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds?
A:You can download from
https://www.arcadepunks.com/front-end-downloads/ or from
https://back-ups.me/browse.php?category=42You need an invite for back-ups.me, which you can get from
https://discordapp.com/invite/bxUewch. Back-ups.me is the best source and it tends to be updated first.
Q: What is the difference between the Micro, Lite, Gold and Packed Editions? What are the latest versions? What systems are included in Packed?
A: Micro has the fewest games, then Lite, then Gold, then Packed. Micro, Lite and Gold are design to be a single layer of mixed games/consoles. The idea with the smaller version is quality over quantity. Packed has consoles separated by category/console and has a ton of games for many different consoles.
The latest versions of Micro, Lite and Gold are 2.5.
The latest version of Packed is 2.0. CFW 3.0 will be the next release, hopefully by December 2018.
Systems included in Packed: Amiga, Arcade, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, ColecoVision, Mattel Intellivision, Megadrive, NES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Game Boy, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Game Boy Color, PCE, Sega 32X, Sega Game Gear, SMS, SNES
Q: Is there a ROMless version of CFW?
A: Yes. You can find it on the EmuMovies ftp site (requires a subscription to EmuMovies) in /Official/Retro FE Media Pack/CoinsOPS Forgotten Worlds.
Q: Can I make requests for future versions of CFW?
A: Yes! Check out the other subjects in this CoinOPS Community Forum.
Q: How can I access The CoinOPS Project on Discord?
A:
https://discord.gg/dvDVWHDQ: What controllers are supported?
A: Nearly all controllers, by default they are setup for XBOX360/XBOX1.
Q: How can I connect my PS3 controller and use it as an Xbox 360 Controller?
A:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye0MO1cca1kQ: Why can't I seem to get the default controller to work (mostly the second player controller)?
A: Run ‘Restore Xbox Controllers.bat’. This will restore the controllers for player 1 and 2 (Restore Defaults.bat also will do this).
Q: My USB controllers/light guns keep changing player order. How can I assign a controller to a player?
A: Here is documentation for MAME to use "stable controller IDs".
https://docs.mamedev.org/advanced/devicemap.html Q: What are the default keys in CFW? How can I change them?
A: Keys in CFW be changed by modifying controls.conf. You can do modify default key mapping in MAME by opening MAME directly at \emulators\mame\mame.exe.
Launch Game = A on controller / 1 or Enter on keyboard
Random Game = Y on controller / R on keyboard
Favorite Games = I to add games, O to remove games (not mapped for controller by default)
Letter Up = Up
Letter Down = Down
Change Game = Left/Right
Change Playlist = L1/L2 on controller / F1/F2 on keyboard
Options/Mapping (In Game) = Left+Right Thumbstick Click on controller / TAB on keyboard
Quit Game = Back+Start on controller / Q or Esc on keyboard
Quit CFW = "Q" on keyboard (not mapped for controller but can be changed in controls.conf)
Q: How do I change the layout of the screen?
A: There are many BAT files in the root directory to do this. There are more options available in the Advanced Configs folder.
Q: How do I reduce game slowdown?
A: The best way is to drop your desktop resolution or turn off Bezel and CRT effects. The following BAT files will help you do this: - LCD (4x3).bat or - LCD.bat or - Fastest Scanlines (4x3).bat or - Fastest Scanlines.bat.
Q: How can I add arcade games to CFW 2 Micro, Lite and Gold?
A: Here is a template that will help with that. There is a readme that helps explain the folder structure. Looking through this will also help you see how other collections work. Also take a look at community contributions.
This will not work out of the box for Packed, although it can be modified if you compare it to the folder structure of Packed. The folder structure various slightly in the Layouts folder.

A: Here is a template that will help with that. There is a readme that helps explain the folder structure and what to do. Looking through this will also help you see how other collections work. Please consider sharing the packs you make with the community! (This is missing a few steps. New documentation is being worked on. Ask the community for help if you get stuck.)
