Xbox / X-Arcade Configuration for Ninja
« Last post by Iriez on November 04, 2018, 06:20:01 PM »
Setup a Ninja install on a xbox with a x-arcade today and found out that KI is the only emulator that does not have a UI for configuring key mappings. The U64x.ini file is contained in /E/TDATA/64646464.

With a x-arcade set with the rear slider config all the way to the right if you have the x-aracde sitting in front of you, this should be the configuration to get KI/KI2 working as it should with L/M/H kick/punch for 123, 456. If your x-arcade is in a different config position these obviously wont work for you. But the legend should give you enough idea on how to re-map.

As I went through this I created a small legend to help figure out the buttons.

x    k   (left is x-arcade button #, right is ki # as it is in the ini. e.g. "m_PlayerMappings[0].dwFire[0]" with the dwFire 0 being the ki # and the number to the right being the button you want to assign.
1 = 2
2 = 3
3 = 5
4 = 0
5 = 1
6 = 4

Simply copy the below and paste it into the U64x.ini file located in the specified dir above via FTP -

Code: [Select]
// U64x Config File

// Don't edit this file manually unless you know what you're doing
// U64x will restore default settings when this file is deleted

// Player controls
m_GamepadConfig->m_ConfigMap[0] 0
m_GamepadConfig->m_ConfigMap[1] 0
m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[0].dwFire[0] 2
m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[0].dwFire[1] 3

m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[0].dwFire[3] 0
m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[0].dwFire[4] 1
m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[0].dwFire[5] 4
m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[1].dwFire[0] 2
m_GamepadConfig->m_PlayerMappings[1].dwFire[1] 3

Known Problems and Solution
This will only be maintained for current versions

All Current Versions

P: JoyToKey icon remains on the Windows Taskbar after closing CFW.
S: Replace 'CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds Launcher.exe' with the updated version below.

P: Erratic mouse movement or mouse cursor is still hidden after closing CFW.
S: Replace 'CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds Launcher.exe' with the updated version below.

CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2.5 Micro

CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2.5 Lite

CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2.5 Gold

CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2.0 Packed

P: Super Mario Kart will not open. It goes to a black screen then back to CFW.
S:  Drop this file in to CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2 PACKED\emulators\mame\roms\snes and it will work.

P: Some games, like The Simpsons, will not open. It goes to a black screen then back to CFW.
S: Delete the NVRAM folder out of \CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2.5 PACKED\emulators\mame.

P: Some Nintendo 64 games do not appear in CFW, even though there is a ROM.
S: Go to CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2 PACKED\collections\Nintendo 64 and edit the settings.conf file. You need to change the line 'list.extension = z64' to be 'list.extensions = z64,n64'

P: Some PAL games, like Darxide (32X) and 90 Minutes (SNES) will only run on a PAL emulator.
S: Merge this folders in with your CFW folders and it will be fixed for both of these games.. This is also a good template for fixing similar games that need a PAL system to run. If you have more fixes to add, please send them to me on Discord so I can add them to this file and update the FAQ.
CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds / Re: CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds Troubleshooting & FAQ
« Last post by daltab on October 12, 2018, 11:19:17 PM »
Q: What are the minimum system requirements?
A: Not much! Windows Vista or newer, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86), DirectX 9.

Q: Where can I download CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds?
A:You can download from or from
You need an invite for, which you can get from is the best source and it tends to be updated first.

Q: What is the difference between the Micro, Lite, Gold and Packed Editions? What are the latest versions? What systems are included in Packed?
A: Micro has the fewest games, then Lite, then Gold, then Packed. Micro, Lite and Gold are design to be a single layer of mixed games/consoles. The idea with the smaller version is quality over quantity. Packed has consoles separated by category/console and has a ton of games for many different consoles.
The latest versions of Micro, Lite and Gold are 2.5.
The latest version of Packed is 2.0. CFW 3.0 will be the next release, hopefully by December 2018.
Systems included in Packed: Amiga, Arcade, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, ColecoVision, Mattel Intellivision, Megadrive, NES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Game Boy, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Game Boy Color, PCE, Sega 32X, Sega Game Gear, SMS, SNES

Q: Is there a ROMless version of CFW?
A: Yes. You can find it on the EmuMovies ftp site (requires a subscription to EmuMovies) in /Official/Retro FE Media Pack/CoinsOPS Forgotten Worlds.

Q: Can I make requests for future versions of CFW?
A: Yes! Check out the other subjects in this CoinOPS Community Forum.

Q: How can I access The CoinOPS Project on Discord?

Q: What controllers are supported?
A: Nearly all controllers, by default they are setup for XBOX360/XBOX1.

Q: How can I connect my PS3 controller and use it as an Xbox 360 Controller?

Q: Why can't I seem to get the default controller to work (mostly the second player controller)?
A: Run ‘Restore Xbox Controllers.bat’. This will restore the controllers for player 1 and 2 (Restore Defaults.bat also will do this).

Q: My USB controllers/light guns keep changing player order. How can I assign a controller to a player?
A: Here is documentation for MAME to use "stable controller IDs".

Q: What are the default keys in CFW? How can I change them?
A: Keys in CFW be changed by modifying controls.conf. You can do modify default key mapping in MAME by opening MAME directly at \emulators\mame\mame.exe.
Launch Game = A on controller / 1 or Enter on keyboard
Random Game = Y on controller / R on keyboard
Favorite Games = I to add games, O to remove games (not mapped for controller by default)
Letter Up = Up
Letter Down = Down
Change Game = Left/Right
Change Playlist = L1/L2 on controller / F1/F2 on keyboard
Options/Mapping (In Game) = Left+Right Thumbstick Click on controller / TAB on keyboard
Quit Game = Back+Start on controller / Q or Esc on keyboard
Quit CFW = "Q" on keyboard (not mapped for controller but can be changed in controls.conf)

Q: How do I change the layout of the screen?
A: There are many BAT files in the root directory to do this. There are more options available in the Advanced Configs folder.

Q: How do I reduce game slowdown?
A: The best way is to drop your desktop resolution or turn off Bezel and CRT effects. The following BAT files will help you do this: - LCD (4x3).bat or - LCD.bat or - Fastest Scanlines (4x3).bat or - Fastest Scanlines.bat.

Q: How can I add arcade games to CFW 2 Micro, Lite and Gold?
A: Here is a template that will help with that. There is a readme that helps explain the folder structure. Looking through this will also help you see how other collections work. Also take a look at community contributions.
This will not work out of the box for Packed, although it can be modified if you compare it to the folder structure of Packed. The folder structure various slightly in the Layouts folder.

Q: How can I add my own collection to CFW 2 Packed?
A: Here is a template that will help with that. There is a readme that helps explain the folder structure and what to do. Looking through this will also help you see how other collections work. Please consider sharing the packs you make with the community! (This is missing a few steps. New documentation is being worked on. Ask the community for help if you get stuck.)
CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds / CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds FAQ & Troubleshooting
« Last post by daltab on October 12, 2018, 11:18:38 PM »
Welcome to CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds. This is built with its own unique look and feel. It even has its own bezel art. Many games, like Ikari Warriors, have unique control enhancements (Commando Style, unless you use the right stick and then its Robotron Style) that you won't find anywhere else. This is built to be family friendly, to bring back the forgotten worlds of the Arcades....and yes it has a touch of the best of best consoles as well. Enjoy!

Make sure you install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) and DirectX 9 prior to asking for help. This fixes most people's problems if CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds is not opening or playing games. UPDATE: These will be included with the future release of CFW 3.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) is required to run all versions of CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds, whether you run 32 or 64 bit Windows. You will get an error saying "MSVCP140.dll is missing" without this program. You can download it here:

DirectX 9 is also required (to run MAME). You can use these installers. The web installer is easier to install, but the standalone installer tends to be more reliable if you have problems with the web installer. Open the standalone installer and uncompress it in it's own folder, then run DXSETUP.EXE.

Get the web installer here:
Stand alone installer here:
